Riya Kodali hailing from Michigan saw her design dreams take shape with the setup of Riya Kodali design house, in Bangalore in year 2015. A fanfare has trailed her designs ever since. From the hospitality industry to the stars bedazzling the silver screen, people from varied walks have been glammed up by her designs.
Success was almost waiting for her, on venturing into the field Bangalore Fashion week showcased her collection in June 2015 and February 2016. In 2017 her work went on to be showcased at Femina Diva South, 2017. Her exquisite designs have dolled up two Bollywood actresses so far, Lisa Ray and Urvashi Rautela.
Her work has won her several accolades and awards which include the following; The Times of India Award for the best luxury designer, India’s most promising Fashion designer 2017 by Ministry of Indian Affairs-India leadership conclave, The Times of India Award 2017 for the Best Luxury Men’s Designer, Times of India Award for Most Creative Fashion influencer and the International Excellence award given by Ms Madhuri Dixit at Thailand in 2018 for the Best International designer and Asia’s Best Bridal Wear.
What inspired these ingenious designs? The characteristic feature true to all the pieces in her collection is its coloration. Riya’s ensemble is spring boarded from the vividness of traditional Indian colors and the intricacies of craftsmanship that’s explicitly portrayed with tradition and embroideries. Usage of opulent fabrics prettified with designs and embroideries. Her collection brings out the panache and making woman look like an epitome of elegance and grace. The collection brings with it a line-up of exquisite Western gowns that are made alluring and dreamy with ethnicity.
